Report An Incident

A Campus Resource

NOTE: If you are in crisis or have witnessed a crime, do not submit an incident report. Please call 911 immediately for all emergencies. For non-emergency situations, call Campus Police at (919) 515-3000.

The Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) at NC State, coordinated through the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity, supports the campus community by providing a system through which a person can report incidents of bias on and around campus. Through our work, we seek to effectively engage with impacted individuals and groups, in order to achieve our goals of awareness, support, education and restoration.

BIRT is not intended to replace or subordinate any existing processes for reporting and addressing acts of discrimination, harassment, concern or violence.  As such, the team will not investigate any incidents, but may refer them to the appropriate University offices when necessary to ensure due process. We’re here for you, and we want to engage with the campus in an ethical, legal and responsible manner.

See the bottom of this page for other reporting options on campus.
